Chesterfield-based engineering firm CBE+, marked their second anniversary with a staff party this week.  It’s two years since the group was formed, pulling together four previously separate companies to become one multidisciplinary group operating under a single entity.

To mark the occasion, CBE+ hosted a Covid-safe celebration in the grounds of their Enterprise Drive facility to thank staff and their families for their commitment and the sensible safe approach they have taken throughout the pandemic.  Their hard work and dedication, coupled with the support of their families allowed CBE+ to continue operating throughout the pandemic supporting their customers, many of whom operate in critical and essential sectors and depended on CBE’s continued operation.

CEO, Marie Cooper said:

‘We hold and attend many events each year for our customers and supply chain partners. This one was different, and possibly the most important. It was for the people who have given their time, dedication, and belief to the business. There has been a lot of change and our staff have supported us every step of the way to get where we are today. We could not have done it without them.’

‘Throughout the pandemic, our staff worked around the clock, through national lockdowns to ensure customers received the parts they needed. It has been challenging but CBE+ staff have resilience, and they embody our company ethos of ‘together we do more’. I am proud of our team today.’

The previous businesses were BG Engineering, NiTEC, Pentag Gears and Spire Laboratories, all of which offered complementary services. This synergy is what prompted Marie Cooper and Chris Brown to form Cooper Brown Enterprises + in 2016, which became CBE+ in 2019.

The process of integrating the businesses has included acquisitions, relocation of businesses and machinery, inward investment, changes in processes and culture. Three out of the four businesses now operate together on one site, while a project is currently underway to move the fourth, NiTEC.

Lindsay Atkins, Operations Director said:

‘‘Our employees are our most valuable asset, so it is important that we show our appreciation to them and their families for the hard work and dedication that they continue to provide to CBE+.

The last 16 months have been challenging for all of us but the commitment of our employees with everything from changing shift patterns, working overtime, and taking on new roles and responsibilities to deliver our customer’s requirements.  The commitment and flexibility that they showed throughout this time enabled us to remain open and continue to provide the best possible service to all of our customers.

It was great to see all of our staff and their families enjoying the festivities and entertainment, it gave us all some much needed down time to focus on having fun!”
