The electroless nickel plating division has followed the footsteps of its precision engineering business, in achieving AS9100 certification.

CBE+ can now offer a combined AS9100-certified service of precision engineering and surface treatments.

CBE+ strives to offer an integrated supply chain combining multiple capabilities from a single supplier. The business has 5 main divisions including precision engineering, electroless nickel plating, gear cutting, artificial lifting and metal testing services, Continual investment by Cooper Brown Enterprises and a new businesses strategy to function as one has allowed the businesses to reach new heights in its operating industries.

Gaining the AS9100 certification is a key part of the group’s growth plans for the coming years. Being able to supply the aerospace and defence markets with services in machining and nickel plating from a single business unit is a unique offering in the UK. The work to achieve this has been ongoing within the business since 2018, with a major focus on embedding the quality systems.

Group business development manager Fabio Cosenza spoke about the company’s recent success at a Made in Yorkshire best practice event hosted at their 100,000sqft facility at enterprise drive In January, he commented “Our quality management staff have put in over a thousand hours into each divisions certification, In just 7 months have developed the teams and brought the business to a new level.

Precision engineering, the CNC machining division of CBE+ were accredited in 2018. During its 2019 annual audit, the business achieved no major, no minor non-conformities, and no opportunity for improvements were recommended. Fabio said: This is unheard of in the industry, something we should boast about and can say we are very proud of our team for achieving this amazing result” The certification in two key areas of the business will bring a multitude of benefits to the group. Not only will it improve business credentials it will allow the company to access OEM’s and achieve global recognition.

Marie Cooper, CEO at CBE+ said “ It has been an interesting journey for CBE+ over the last two years, our vision of building the group was always to add value to our individual businesses by collaborating, “Together we do more”. We are achieving this and by doing so are becoming a more integral part of new and existing customers’ supply chains.”

Although CBE+ has made great achievements over the past two years, Plans are already being put in place to move towards the next steps in attaining NADCAP and certification for fit for nuclear supply, making them a substantial contender to supply into the aerospace industry.
